The city
by the sound
We saw Seattle coming and going. After our tour of the Space Needle, we ate dinner across the street as twilight descended and then walked back to our hotel. We discovered the 1962 World's Fair monorail and went back the next day to Space Needle Park to see City Center and MoPOP.
We also toured the Public Market and nodded to the original Starbucks location downtown.
Many buildings are new and shiny and property is in the air.
The crown
of the continent
Glacier National Park contains a rare, three-way watershed, east, west, and north and tops the Rocky Mountain range.
We drove along the "Going to the Sun" road and stopped often to catch the view and our breath.
The monument
on the mountain
It simply doesn't seem possible, especially considering era in which it was produced. And yet, there it is, as majestic as ever, inspiring quiet - almost silence - as visitors take it in.
The never-ending story
I asked Anthony to promise to bring me back before I die, and I suggested to him that he ask his own grandchild to do the same for him because even that grandchild he will probably need to have someone pledge to make the trek. Already three generations in the making, it seems likely it will be many more.
